REALbasic 2006 Release 4 to Ship in September; Will Create Universal Binaries

AUSTIN, Texas, USA (August 7, 2006)— REAL Software, provider of REALbasic, cross-platform that really works, announced today that REALbasic 2006 Release 4 will ship in September with support for Apple's Universal Binary format. The Universal Binary format enables a single Macintosh executable to run natively on both PowerPC and Intel-based Macs. With REALbasic 2006 Release 4, most REALbasic applications can be re-compiled as Universal Binaries with one mouse click.

A development preview of REAL Software's Universal Binary support is currently available via the REALbasic beta program. Any REALbasic 2006 user with a current update plan can access the beta program by visiting www.realsoftware.com/feedback.

REALbasic 2006 Release 4 will be available in September via REAL Software's Rapid Release Model. Any customer whose update plan is current when this release ships will receive it at no additional cost.
