REAL Software Announces Official Sponsorship of ADHOC

AUSTIN, Texas, USA (June 29, 2005)— REAL Software, makers of REALbasic, cross-platform that really works, announced today that the company is an official sponsor of the Advanced Developers Hands-On Conference (ADHOC). The annual conference provides computer programmers, engineers, students, and technology enthusiasts the opportunity to learn cutting-edge technologies from each other in intense coding marathons.

A popular event at ADHOC is the Showcase. Attendees can form teams or work alone to create cool and unique programs, all in the name of fun and learning. As a sponsor of the event, REAL Software is providing a free license to REALbasic Professional Edition for all attendees.

According to Jon Johnson, REAL Software engineer, ADHOC presenter, and a frequent ADHOC attendee, "the Showcase is always a blast to participate in, and for the last two years I've used REALbasic to create the entries. REALbasic gives you the power of most low-level languages, but provides it in an easy-to-use environment. As such, we thought it would be great if all attendees got some experience with cross-platform that really works by creating their entries with REALbasic."

Johnson is also presenting a session focusing on REALbasic at the conference, "Write a Cross-Platform Game in Two Hours." The session will introduce attendees to REALbasic by walking them through the process of writing a Battleship-like game, including multi-player gaming over the Internet. Best of all, because it will be written in REALbasic, it will work on Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux automatically.

ADHOC is scheduled for July 27-31, 2005 in Detroit, Michigan. Registration is still open and more details can be found at: http://adhocconference.com. Early bird pricing for the conference ends June 30, 2005.
