REALbasic Name Changed to REAL Studio
When we shipped 2010 Release 1 in February, we changed the name of the REALbasic IDE to REAL Studio. This is not a new product - this is a name change only. We changed the name of the IDE to REAL Studio in order to differentiate between the language, REALbasic, and the IDE, now called REAL Studio.
If you purchased REALbasic 2009 Release 5, for example, you are still eligible to use REAL Studio 2010 Release 2. There is no need to purchase a new license or upgrade your existing license. If your license is up for renewal, you can purchase a REAL Studio renewal just as you would have done in the past.
The new name better conveys what a professional and powerful tool REAL Studio is. If you still have any questions about the name change, please feel free to contact Customer Service.

REAL Studio 2010 Release 2
REAL Studio 2010 Release 2 shipped on Tuesday, May 4th. Windows users will be happy to know that this release reduces flickering that previously occurred when several different types of controls were moved or resized. This release adds 17 new features and 68 improvements, including improved database connectivity, reporting, ActiveX and IDE printing. Also, 2010r2 adds more DLL placement options and a new TextEncoding feature that determines if a string is correctly encoded or not.
