That's great to hear about the PC/Mac compatibility.

You're right on target about the CD being a hybrid. It turns out that
the CD-ROM (contrary to what the book indicates) was a hybrid CD-ROM,
i.e., able to be used by either a PC or a Mac.

The book mentions including a "trial version of REALbasic 4.5," so
(I'm guessing here) perhaps the book came out when the Windows version
of REALbasic was just appearing. Adding the Windows stuff may have
been a last-minute thing.

Incidentally, I also have by the same author Learning Visual Basic.NET
Through Applications (but I haven't even opened the book, because of
my dislike for VB.NET - others must feel the same way, because
Microsoft is now giving away the standard edition) and Leearning
Visual Basic Through Appliccations (a helpful book, BUT some of the
programs had bugs that needed to be repaired).

Incidentally, if anyone else has the Learning REALbasic Through
Applications book, let me know. Perhaps we can work through it
together.
