Hi Geoff -
I worked through the tutorial and thought it was excellent. Its chief
virtues are simplicity and clarity. Its major shortcoming is that it only
scratches the surface, a fact that didn't become apparent to me until I
actually started to build an application outside the scope of the sample
text editor.
At that point one has to draw on other resources. Unfortunately, most of
these tend to lack the tutorial's clarity, and the whole process becomes
very frustrating. (This applies to RS's additional resources and those
offered by others.)
It would be great to have mini-modules that match the tutorial's quality and
gracefully introduce more of RB's power. I'll resist listing my priorities
for such modules, as I doubt they would generalize.
To help you put my comments in context, I am 1) accustomed to learning
sophisticated applications, 2) moderately experienced with old-fashioned
BASIC programming, and 3) an OOP babe in the woods.
Best,
Ted Craft
