Geoff,
The tutorial introduced the IDE well. It was useful to work through it more than once, taking time to see beyond the ability to manipulate the interactive user environment.

There is little to show a new user the difference between procedural and object concepts. I also worked through the Curriculum and found the suggestions for additional work/exploration at the end of each chapter the most provocative and helpful information that RB has provided.

If you are OOP programmer or have has exposure via VB, C++, Java etc., then the tutorial will be a quick guide to transition. If you want the tutorial to be a beginner's introduction to using REALbasic as a OOP tool, then it falls short.
