I've built apps with FaceSpan, REALbasic, and probably will with AppleScript
Studio out of curiosity. But given REALbasic's speed in comparison to
AppleScript (there is no comparison) in a choice between the two, I'd take
REALbasic.
The main advantage FaceSpan had over HyperCard was a full interface widget set.
Other than that HC was much faster and just as able to run AppleScripts. RB
doesn't have HC's disadvantage in comparison to AS Studio.
AppleScript Studio might have some advantage as a development environment, in
which case obviously that would be a factor. But other than that, the only
advantage I can imagine for AS Studio would be for apps where many (many) small
interactions with other applications were needed. In that case, where bundling
each separate AppleScript up and importing it into RB would be a pain, it might
be better to go with AS Studio.

Geoff
