I found something called ResKnife, but it's unstable, doesn't support all
resources, and is still in pre-release stage. I assume these problems will
be fixed by the time it's released. I wish there was an OS X ResEdit, but
there isn't, and ResKnife is all I've found to replace it so far.
IIRC, ResKife hasn't been updated since like mid 2000.
I'd like to start work on a resouce editor for OS X. I know how to do
it (except for reading/translating all the resources), I just need to
actually start working on it.

Why don't you want to use Classic to edit your resources file?
Crashes and then you have to wait... blah blah. Having OS X app would
just be nice. Apple should seriously update ResEdit to 3.0 and make
it carbon compatible. Obviously it would have to work with resources
in the datafork and the resourcefork. Actually, there is a 3.0
already isn't there? It was pretty bad though...
