NilObjectException in Windows Menu

I have an application that works fine in Mac OSX and OS9

I am developing in OSX with realBASIC 4.02


PROBLEM: When I compile the app for Windows the program works fine until I
try and select a menu item. ANY menu item.

Then immediately I get a message
"An exception of NilObjectException was not handled. The application must
shut down"

Anyone know the likely cause of this?
