Canvas.paint difference betwen 4.02 and 4.5

Bonjour,

Under Mac OS 9, I have seen a big difference in Canvas.paint between 
4.02 and 4.5
If you have a window with a canvas at the screen, then display a dialog 
ahead the window:
- with 4.02 canvas.paint isn't called
- with 4.5 canvas.paint is called

when you close the dialog
- 4.02 and 4.5 call canvas.paint, so it's normal but
- with 4.5 you see that the canvas is erased and redrawn, so with a flash
- with 4.02 you don't see the canvas erased before redrawn

Is that a known bug ?
