using a DV-corder as backup device ?

Does anyone know how to read data files in a peudo DVtrack in order 
to use a DV-cam as a backup FiWi storage.
I wondered wether the speed of trasmission of realbasic would make it 
and how to encode the data flow to make it -image-like to the 
camcorder.
maybe to much asking, I am not really a programmer, just a DIY guy.
