Subject: Re: Vertical Japanese text
Thanks for the replies, but it's not advice on whether I should use vertical text or not that I'm asking for. Maybe I should explain what I'm trying to do. The user will input addresses which will be formated for printing. This printing will be done onto envelopes or postcards. Please don't anybody tell me that in Japan it's also common to print addresses out horizontally, because I already know this. I want to offer the user the option of printing the addresses out vertically. This is VERY common in Japan. I would also like to be able to display the formatting of the address before printing. Any ideas?
Thanks for the help.

Well, you can print addresses horizontally, but you will need a vertical option, that's for sure. There's a vast sub-market for "hagaki" type products for sending new year's cards.
