I'm disappointed, and feeling a bit naive, that people can say this about RB because I'd not used it extensively enough to notice these discrepancies. We're focussing more on getting a cross-platform drawing UI looking good, on our current sizeable RB-based project.

It was the endless need to write lots of code and use plugins to get a decent UI that led me to abandon 4th Dimension many years ago (and I was saddened to see when called back to train someone on an enterprise system I wrote 11 years previously that the current 4D hasn't moved on that much).

What we need to do on this mailing list is help find the positives that will justify RS investing time to close this UI believability gap, rather than beating them over the head about it. What sales messages, what new markets would support tweaking to fit the (ever changing) Mac UI target and how can those changes avoid compromising Windows and Linux targets?

I am hopeful that their increased push to attract more professional developers will be reflected in fixing these issues, before they become a problem for me!
