Hi Gus,

For MIDI support in RB, I think the only pre-packaged solution is DXMIDI. It's a plugin, it's not free, but it does work (and pretty well). You can find it at...

http://www.dxmidi.com/index.php

Regarding the USB to serial adapters, I'm not aware of any that will support MIDI. There may be one or two now, but when I was looking (a couple of years ago) there weren't any. There is a solution, though, if you're using a PowerMac (rather than iMac or 'Book). Gee Three makes a product called the Stealth Serial Port. It works great, but you will have to give up your internal modem (if you have one). You can find it at...

Hope this helps,

Ben

I am looking for advice and or URLs that help

the MIDI baud rate of 31.25 K. If I can find a serial
adapter, I have the ability to modify the input and
output to support a MIDI current loop. I want to use
a serial adapter because they are cheaper than a
USB to MIDI adapter.

Thanks
