I've never seen any odd behaviors, and they certainly are supported in any method in REALbasic. Here is a previous message detailing how to turn an integer that represents a pointer into a memoryblock: <http://www.realsoftware.com/listarchives/realbasic-nug/2004-03/ msg00767.html>

If that technique isn't working, I'm afraid we need more details about what function it is, etc.
