I have a slight visual impairment, for vip's
it is _much_ easier to read PDF's on the computer.
Especially if the format of the book suits a computer screen dimensions.
(Where I can also make the background black, and the text yellow, even get
the computer to read the information out)

PDF's also substantially lowers the cost of production and distribution.
You can also 'print' a pdf into a book at many print shops now for marginal
cost.
