After realizing that REALWorld happens end of Feb and not end of Jan,
and finding affordable flights from Germany around that time of year,
I started thinking about coming to RW after all.
But since I am not rich (any more, darn those
fastcarssexandrocknroll!), I need to give a session to compensate for
the expenses.
I need to come up with a session topic quickly (i.e. today). And it
has to be something that people actually want to hear!
So, here's some ideas I came up with so far:
- speed related optimization of code, e.g. how using MemoryBlocks can
speed things up (yes, I'll do my homework about RegEx, Ed :)
- what you have to be aware of to make your apps internationally savvy
(Mac & Windows)
- writing plugins in general (there's already a specific GCC session,
but perhaps people want an introduction to plugin programming)
- being endian aware (i.e. what you need to know to make your apps
work on Intel Macs or x-platform in general)
- how the RB runtime system functions (how are exeptions, objects and
other internal things working below what we see)
- let's talk about what we don't like about RB, let it all out. And
then feel better. Ahhhhh...
Anything else you think I could talk about?
