Recently, System Update (OS X Tiger) updated iTunes for me. I go
to open it and... Gaaaa! Where did the ugly, purple, matte
scrollbar thumbs come from? Yech. Is this a feature of scroll bars
now under Tiger (that you can change the color), or did Apple just
pull a funny and hard-code a custom scrollbar (NSScroller) for this?
If they were shiny, I wouldn't mind, but the matte look just
doesn't jive with the rest of OS X's look and feel (Aqua). Just
IMHO... :)
Apple released iTunes 7.0 a couple of weeks ago (when they announced
downloadable movies). They couldn't think of too many new features
so they decided to redo most of the UI... scrollbars included.
