I don't see any reason why it need be a mess. People could still opt to
install and use the entire release as done at the moment. It would be up to
each RB user - once a new FINISHED release were made available, to decide
for himself whether they use the entire release or configure their RB setup
to use different versions.
Xcode allows one for example to decide which OSX version of the frameworks
to use for a particular build.
