Just an FYI that there are some jurisdictions (like where I live)  
where you legally cannot call your self an "Engineer" of any kind  
unless you are a member of the local Professional Engineers society

The upshot ... most people who graduate from Comp Sci will not be  
"Software Engineers" but those who graduate from Electrical  
Engineering, Civil Engineering or any other "engineering discipline"  
that now program for a living could be called that
