Hi Garth,
I feel like I might not be completely understanding your question, but
if I do, I've run into a similar problem in the past. If you right-
click (or ctrl-click with a one-button mouse/trackpad) on your
workspace somewhere, one of the items in the contextual menu is
"Select". Hold your mouse over this, and a list of all the controls
in the current workspace will show up. Look for the one with the
errant left value and click on it, and then the properties pane should
show the values for that object, so you can get rid of that blasted
extra digit.
