Not to suggest RB can't be made to do something, but you may want to

Lively... humm never used it.
I'm not sure what they want would be for the general public use,
so I think competing with google wouldn't be an issue, well as far
as I know anyway.
The choice of the language was more or less open. There is Flash, which
I don't know enough to do that, Java I know some but not a lot, C++ dito..,
and Rb.
Rb could do the chat part, I think but adding the flash content could
be a problem.
Thanks
Lively is brand new, still in alpha I think, but it's essentially a 3d
chatroom sort of deal. I haven't checked it out because the linux
version isn't available yet. I believe it's all in browser.
I think straight Flash would be difficult to get any real degree of 3d
in, and I've always found it a pain the butt to get it to do much of
anything. Doing chat with RB is about as dead simple as it gets, but
depending on what all you want to do with the Flash elements I'm sure it
could be very difficult.
I suggest Java solely because it's fairly mature, from what I've seen,
when it comes to mixing and matching media elements, as well as offering
cross platform options. It's also a pain in the butt, especially
compared to RB, but that's how it rolls.
Maybe you can describe some of what you want to do, see if anyone here
has an idea on how to do it?
