I believe this is possible but I haven't tried anything other than  
storing application preferences.  Do a Google search for  
"CFPreferences" or "NSUserDefaults". The necessary calls seem to be  
there but I don't know if they actually work on an iPhone/iPod touch.

I haven't seen any calls for this myself. Since SDK 3.0 will allow in- 
application purchases, I suspect this information will be available  
soon if it isn't already.
