What's the possibility of WebKit being integrated into RB in in the
near future?
I mean, I've gone through the site, it makes perfect sense to me.
Sounds like its
a matter of creating a plug-in control?
So I see this...
http://webkit.org/projects/editing/index.html
It appears that you can edit pages using WebKit...

Yah, WebKit is available for all 3 platforms.
First off, my customer base is Windows. So thats why I wanted to

However, I'm a Mac person, so I'd really need both platforms. And
Linux makes sense
as well. What I really think we need is a plug-in / control that
allows for reliable standards
based viewing of HTML / CSS. I'd also like to see an "edit" mode so
that people could do
some level of editing in the control. There are dozens of
JavaScript /
Ajax editors that
achieve this and its not something thats 'unique', if you're building
some level of content
management, having an HTML editor is becoming "standard".
I'm not familiar with WebKit, is this also something that can run on
Windows?

While certainly not the most difficult task in the world, I think
it'd be
a rather extensive project to even half-ass such a thing.
Best,

When I bought RB 2005, it was because of HTML viewer, 4 years later
it
still
does not work. You are right, they should just make their own, and
use
webkit or have Opera or firefox make a plugin. Just something that
works.

Just kidding. That I know of, no such bird exists....what with
the
HTMLViewer in RB being 3 different engines across 3 platforms.
Maybe RB should just standardize on WebKit and be done with it!

As I understand it, webkit is what RB uses under OS X anyway, but without
a lot of the features implemented. I'm also not sure, offhand, if the
library is baked in or if the system version is used, though I'd hope for
the latter and expect the former.
What's the possibility of WebKit being integrated into RB in in the
