Thanks Arnaud and Charles,

I keep looking at MBS but have trouble justifying the cost.
I guess one of these days I'll look into declares.

Can RB put icons/menu stuff in the global menu bar?

If you go into the System Preferences and click on, say, the Date&Time pref, you get a panel that has a check box that says "Show date and time in menu bar".

If you check this you get an entry or icon in the menu bar with a pull down menu attached. I've looked in the UG and LR and can't seem to figure how to do this for an RB app.

Well, you have to use plugins or declares. The MBS plugin is the easier solution. I don't know which declares should be used if you prefer the other way (assuming it's not too hard).
